This short post was supposed to be a comment to this one, but as I went into obsessive compulsive writing mode I thought what the heck, let's make it a blog.
Those who've occasionally kept in touch with me know how it's gone for me recently... those who havent : I haven't watched SASUKE stuff in ages (aside from 27), not posted in forums, barely kept up with news...not precisely the gamebook of a fixated fan.
And still, when I read about the future of the All-Stars it felt like a part of me cringing and dying. SASUKE is moving on to a completely new, probably brilliant era and I'm not complaining that it is because it's a way for it to survive...however it won't be the same, and it will be deeply missed.
How sad I am to see the All-Stars go has made me realise, to my surprise I must say, how deeply radicated my affection for them is. They were my heroes in a moment when I needed heroes; yet they were simple people with which I could sympathize. And seeing them do wonderful things made me dream and dream of doing the same, and even though I'm far from doing extraordinary, God knows how much that's helped me get where I am now. They've taught me perseverance and sportmanship, the power of willpower but the humanity of accepting one's limits.
They really were ordinary people doing extraordinary things, which included but went beyond grabbing ropes and climbing towers.
What now...well, Sasuke moves on and I intend to keep an eye on it, especially because I don't mind this new direction where it's going. (and, well... it seems that Sasuke is expanding to places to where I may actually be able to fly/drive/walk if I'm lucky with schooldays and can find the money. It's a chance!)
As for the All-Stars, again, if you know me you know I may have been silent but could never forget them. Heck, if I needed proof, last night my brain decided to shatter my morale with a really frustrating dream about Nagano and Takeda coming to my College and me not being able to tell them a word because their interpreter was having coffee.

Although I've had my great fangirl moments (a couple message exchanges with Nagano, and thanks to someone awesome a friggin' AUTOGRAPH), as many others one of my greatest regrets is never having seen them in person. Though I doubt that'll ever happen I feel I want to do something, send them a message, a picture, anything to really tell them how much I owe them and that even though their era competing in Sasuke may be over they still have reasons to be proud. I'll see, probably in a couple of weeks since academically speaking I'll be in deep crap at least until the end of the month.
Until then...that's all, folks.ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-78989691472173895062011-08-26T16:50:00.000-07:002011-08-27T01:03:31.511-07:00A Long Journey
**WARNING **

I mean it, when I say a long journey.Start reading at your own risk.

It was November, and for a couple of weeks already the main topic of our talks was the italian selection for United World College. That day, we finally decided that it was worth a try.

Everything we had ever wanted from a school ( and that our schools had never ever given us) was there. But as the day of Regional selections came closer, we started discus

sing how little our chances of making it were. About 700 students apply in Italy every year, and there are only about 20 spots; half of them are "bought"by certain richer Regions that pay scholarships for their kids. Obviously, our Region didn't, so we had to rely on the few "national" scholarships.

On the 8th of April, the night before Selections, Teo and I went for a walk in town. Sitting on a bench, eating ice cream, we were at the same time excited and very depressed. After wondering what was waiting for us at Selections, we started imagining what life could have been if...IF...one of us, for some incredible reason, had made it... or even - "but c'mon, we're just imagining stuff right now." - if we BOTH made it, and even in the same College. That "if one of us ever passes Regionals, and that is so not going to happen. Or is it?"

*

Fast forward one month later.

After four weeks of nailbiting, euphory, depression, euphory, "why the hell did I do that instead of that", I was finally starting to calm down, when my mother told me to check this email.

"<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<"

"I'm going to Nationals! That's so...cool!FTB! I gotta tell Teo - oh wait. Shit". I was very excited, but a part of me just couldn't help but shiver at the thought of telling my best friend that I had made it, knowing that "the chances that we both made it are...you don't want to know".

The next morning, classes were about to start, when a classmate showed me a text from Teo.
"Tell Silvia to turn her cell on. I call her."
I ran out of the classroom - almost knocking down a teacher - turned on my cellphone, and waited. One minutes, two minutes, five...I was about to text him, when finally the phone rang.

"Hey Silvia!"
"Oy! What's going on? Quick, I gotta get back to class..."

"You have any idea 'bout who's made it to Nationals?"

Oh shit. Please, please let me...let him...

"...ye-yeah..."

"You made it?!?"

"...yes."

"YOU TOO?"

"What do you m...WHAT?"

About 30 kids had applied in our Regional selections. We were the only two kids who had made it.

We both agreed that it felt like "living a movie".
But now, there were Nationals coming.

*

We weren't really prepared. We started studying, studying, studying, and looking for people who had already been through Nationals. They all told us the same thing: study a bit, but mostly be yourself. That's what they want.

Finally, on the 29th of May, Teo, my parents and I squeezed into my father's car for a day-long journey that would take us to Duino, the small village near Trieste where UWCAd - the Italian college - is located.

National selections were three days long, and kids were separated in three different shifts. Teo was in the second one, I was in the last one.

It was an incredible experience. I have some really great memories of those three days - like reenacting the opening scene of Serenity in front of all the kids, examiners, the headmaster and a Harvard teachers (who all seemed to like it) - and some less great memories - like feeling sick in front of the chief examiner, or getting lost right after my academic interview.

Teo and I both agreed that we had already been lucky enough, to both pass Regionals and have such a great time at Nationals. But...we also knew how badly we wanted to be accepted at UWC, and how terrible the perspective to go back to our old school was.

Time passed. Day after day, I got back home from school half thinking "No way, too early, still nothing", half expecting my mother to greet me at the door saying "Guess who's now a UWC student!". Nothing happened, for two weeks, and then my mother told me. "Got a mail from UWC...not good news". Same was for Teo.

I thought I had gotten used to the idea of not having made it - I was wrong. School was over, but summer had never been so depressing. One day of mid June I was playing Halo, when the phone rang. My mother answered, so I didn't pay attention at first, but then she just...freezed.

*

I looked at her, and understood.

It was the UWC office secretary, a lovely and kind woman. My mom gave me the phone. Patrizia had only heard of me through Teo, but her voice was still shaking when she talked to me: "Hello! I am Patrizia. I am so happy to make this call..." "And I am...happy to receive it..." "You did *great* at selections, but we had to shift you down the list because of Regional scholarships, we're always so sorry when that happens, but well, this time it ends well!"

I. Had. Made it. I had a scholarship, and for the Italian college.

Ten minutes after that call, my mother was still screaming, hugging me, jumping around the house, crying - and I was standing in the living room, still in shock. "Why am I so calm? I'm not supposed to be calm...I friggin... I friggin...is this happening for real?"

*

It took me a week or two to fully realize what was going on. And then one day, just when I had almost recovered, I was walking down a street in town...

*cellphone rings*

"Hello?"

"Hey Silvia, I'm Teo, What'ya doing?"

"Walking down the town centre, going to see one of my friend's final exam...you?"

"Me? I'm celebrating."

"..."

"I'm celebrating because...I'm going to Duino!"

This time it didn't take me more than one second to understand. He had made it, and to the same college where I was going. Careless about people staring at me, I started yelling and jumping around, punching walls. I didn't stop until I ran out of breathe and felt my hands going numb.

*

The rest of the summer has passed very quickly. Too quickly, in fact. Teo and I are flying to Duino next Monday. It feels weird, saying goodbye to friends and relatives, packing, looking at my bedroom and thinking I won't be here for a while. It's not like I'm never coming back - holidays are always holidays, I'm coming back for Christmas and summer and all - but to be honest, now that Day X is so close, I'm terrified. Everybody tells me I'm going to be ok, I think I'm going to be ok, but, you know, it's the fear of the unknown.

I haven't changed my mind, though. I still think it's going to be great! I've already met most of my future mates via internet, and they all seem - well, as nuts as me. Every time I feel too freaked out I just watch this.

And I have this great blessing of going with my best friend, that I'm so thankful for.

Everybody tells me, when talking about this College, "Wow! Well, basically you're going to Hogwarts!". I can't help but smile and agree. In fact, one of the first things I said after that famous phone call - several minutes after, I was lost for words for a while - was "Damn! Took that damn owl five whole years to

arrive!".

Studying Maths isn't exactly like studying Charms, and I know that this school, like everything in the world, isn't perfect. There will be hard moments. But I chose this adventure, and I want to live it, and make the best of it.

Bring it, life!

ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-43405355876380390642010-10-21T14:43:00.000-07:002010-10-21T15:42:19.874-07:00New StartSummer has ended a while ago. While I thought it would have been a chance to do what I couldn't do during the school year, I actually needed that time to not do anything at all- you know, relax, clear up my mind a bit.
Now, October the 21th (time is flying O_O), everything is starting over again. School, girl scouts, fencing training (in a week or so). Also, after months of little or no news, a new Sasuke (26th) has come and passed (airdate next January).

So it's time to get ready.

Last year was a bit of a mess, mostly because of school, combined with all the other things I do. Since this school year is going to be even harder, I decided to be well prepared.

I want to organize my everyday life better. Get ahead with homework, decide when and how to train, and even do stuff like writing a blog every week, just to keep things in order in my mind...and avoid getting crazy if I loose control of the situation, hehe.

Another thing I want to do is come up with a decent schedule for my training, both Sasuke training and non-Sasuke stuff.

I still don't know how I'd get to Japan if hell ever freezed over and I made it to Sasuke, heck I don't even know if there will BE a Sasuke 27 (or 28, 29...) - but you know how that goes. First of all, Arsenette: without you and the wonderful job you're doing with your blog I would have never had met Sasuke for what it is really, and I would never have found the boards. People could say it's just a blog, but really it isn't, it's a way to discover a whole new world for people like me and all those who had the same experience. Thanks for always being ready to help, for supporting everybody. Btw you remember I'm your long lost sister, don't ya? :P
Same for Ube, whose blog I found a little bit later but it helped me understand Sasuke as well.Even only your patience and how hard you work to keep us updated deserve some respect.
Thanks to all you guys on the forums and not, for sharing your toughts, for being like a huge family that supports me every day making me smile, laugh and cry, thanks for being my friends.
Sorry if all this sounds mawkish, but this is how I get when it's 3 am and I can't get this thought out of my head :)ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-45090699352067225642010-06-14T13:45:00.001-07:002010-06-15T14:29:39.169-07:00Workshop Matera with Laurent Piemontesi 13-14 June '10When I heard about Laurent Piemontesi (THAT Laurent Piemontesi) coming to Matera again, I completely went mad. He's a legend here for the traceurs in this town. Last year he was here as well, but I was on holiday with my family, so I decided I wasn't gonna miss this if he ever came here again.
Man, that was wonderful. The traceurs' group here is a really small crew (twelve kids) so it didn't feel like a formal lesson.
He impressed me a lot. Quite serious but never strict, he'd help us out even doing imple things, and encourage us when we were scared. There also was his friend Yohann (who looks like Paul Terek, lol). He injured his foot last weeks so he just helped us out but he is a very nice guy.
For example: there was this kinda big jump between to walls in the Sassi, I knew I was able to do it but it simply scared the crap out of me. Aftera a couple of minutes Laurent told me "Come down then, we'll try again tomorrow. It's OK even if you didn't make it, because you at least talked with your fear".
What he said impressed me so much I barely could sleep at night, and the day after decided I was going to try again. I made it! It was friggin...easy. Once I was jumping, I realized it was a kinda small jump compared with other jumps I had made before.
We trained very hard and learned loads of things, but we also joked and mocked each other all the time. Laurent's French accent even when he was speaking Italian was just priceless, we kept mimicking it in front of him and he would just laugh. Sometimes he'd mimick the guys' reaction when they first met him (btw it was an immensely lucky coincidence, he was visiting Matera's Sassi while they were training and they met), or we would harass each other with the circle game (especially Yohann).
These two days have been a real blessing for me. I've never been so serene in months, and I'm also very motivated now. Both Laurent and Yohann told me I have a great potential! A couple of times, after watching me making a long jump or new trick, they would start confabbing in French, then laugh at me desperately trying to get what they were saying - btw I studied French in middle school but...can't remember jack squat- and give me a thumbs up.
In a couple of days there should be video footage and a lot of pictures, by the way.
Gotta go now, au revoir!!!

P.S. Yesterday after furious yelling, my mom locked me at home -also with less than an hour of internet a day- for 3 days because I complained about her bossing me all the time.
Ergo she's doing it wrong because she just proved me right. Didn't even manage to blog about Sasuke 24 (Elsie's blog and Ube's blog) or Pro Sportsman No.1 (Takeda, Nagano and Shingo competed! It was worth skipping a day of school to watch it ^^ Elsie's and Ube's ). Gah.
But it's time for Sasuke 25! I don't know if I'll be able to write a detailed blog about the new tournament, but I'm going to try.
Sasuke 25 is airing on the 28th (taping date was the 20th of February, here's more details about the Navi ), and it's going to be a blast. In Sasuke 24 Yuuji Urushihaara friggin achieved Kanzenseiha and this means... COURSE RENEWAL! Hell yeah.
I was planning on doing a completely different thing but it looked useles snow that I have real info to work on.

Our first REAL info comes from these pictures, scans of a TV Magazine (thanks Ube!)

Sasuke Champions Makoto Nagano, Yuuji Urushihaara and Kazuhiko Akiyama @LostInUbe

This time Sasuke is gonna be an international thing. That's cool! There's people coming from each Japanese prefecture, plus one from each continent! The red thing Nagano and Akiyama use to cover their numbers (Nagano didn't manage to...*cough* 99? *cough*) are the prefectures they're representing (Miyazaki for Nagano, Hokkaido for Akiyama).
Thanks to David from the Sasuke Maniac boards, we have a translation. The Rolling Log(duh...I'd hate getting dizzy if I ever had the chance to compete) and the Jump Hang (yay!) are back, and seems the Third Stage was renewed to be nearly impossible, with the Cliffhanger becoming so hard even finalists from Sasuke 24 were yelling things like "it's impossible!".

Comedian Dandy Sakano attempting unknown obstacle (btw he's representing the Ishikawa prefecture) @LostInUbe

In the second picture, besides the comedian Dandy Sakano competing, the only relevant info is that once again we will have a -dantobi (steps) obstacle.

Yesterday the first TBS trailer for Sasuke 25 came out, and suddenly the Sasuke Manic boards became an anthill...something like 150 replies in a few hours.

That's because the trailer is nothing but...10 seconds of pure shock. Oh, and also Arsenette's Sasuke 24 Navi blog. As always, if you want a detailed blog...read these, not mine :P
I've had trouble getting pictures for this one, 'cause for some reason I couldn't fast forward nor take back the video while rewatching it to take pics.
I'm exhausted, but I'm still enjoying blogging a lot :D

Here we go!
I didn't really pay attention to them, since I expected their part to take much less time and I only recognize few of them, like Tetsuro Degawa, Mr. Narcissist, or Wakky.
But they DID make me laugh! Most of them were shown while "training", but for SOME reason the Descente logo was everywhere...bah.
Oh, I also remember boy band Shinsegumi Rien (they also were in Sasuke 23).
These two guys (comedy duo Audrey, I think) were worth a pic!
See, Kaiou? Your daddy's really good at rope climbing...but he still can't do a 12 seconds...
LoL joking. This has to be one of the cutest shots of the whole Navi :D
For the first time I heard Kaiou's voice...he's such a good baby, he never screamed on camera :P he's already used to be on tv, poor baby.

But what's this music? The Pale Warrior with Orange Pants is coming! The firefighter, Toshihiro Takeda!
Takeda struggling on the Hang Climbing, Sasuke 23

Seems that he finally understood he must practise free climbing. Where is he going?Irony, in a place called G4. Ah well.
However, he's having problems...yep, still having problems...down he goes!
He's definitely bad at it isn't it?
Uh, wait, there's some old man telling him something. What is he telling him? I have no idea, I don't speak Japanese. Ube said:
"He gets some help from a kindly old man, not unlike a sifu in a kung-fu movie. Later, he will die and Toshihiro will have to avenge his death."
He's trying again...
(Rambling Rican)™SHINGO SPLASHDOWN NAIL-BITING FINALE...uh...Shingo passing the Second Stage. Unfortunately, probably under the Wall Lift, his shoulder (the one that he dislocated in the Sasuke 7 Final Stage) messed up again and in Stage 3 he wasn't able to complete the Arm Rings.
Shingo a few seconds before falling on the Arm Rings in Sasuke 23

I was both worried and happy watching Shingo's piece. This shoulder is becoming a really big problem...but I'm happy to see that he's still motivated and taking seriously his physical therapy.
Mr. Sasuke, Katsumi Yamada!
Here's Sasuke 23 footage reminding him what he said after his run in the last tournament: if he doesn't pass Stage 1 in Sasuke 24, he'll retire. I don't know if I believe him...but this is what he said.
Anyway, after Sasuke 23 he finally took his lack of stamina seriously.

And he's really working out a lot!He lost 6 kilos...wtf!
Nice view btw!

Now talking seriously. I hopw he passes the First Stage this time. Not only because I've had enough of all this drama around his Mr. Sasuke mask...I don't like him so much, but I don't hate him. Simply because he is a man...he'd be crushed if he really retired, in my opinion.
Enough! What's next?
New Stars!
Ehi but..wtf???
Where's Akiyama?
Did you TBS guys forget he is an All-Star? And that there have been other Sasukes before Sasuke 9 when Nagano came in? I mean, you know Nagano is my favourite, but hell, you keep forgetting TWO men achieved Kanzenseiha. Two. Not only Nagano.
They only gave him a couple of shots...well, their own decision, but I must say it's not fair in my opinion.
Ok, let's go on or I'll blow up something. Most likely, TBS :P
Let's start with Hitoshi Kanno, who did a great job in Sasuke 23!

Unfortunately, his run ended with a timeout on the G-Rope.

Obviously he's now focusing on rope climbing.
In Sasuke 23 he got this revenge on the Shin Cliffhanger, but was eliminated painfully by the Spider Flip.

Even if pretty funny to watch in my opinion, this obstacle wasn't exactly a blast in the last tournament. It was more a time waster, even easier than the Rokudantobi.

No.2
Ladies and gentlemen...

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPDz86upXVnGBbjw5CIkQjdBMRM06HAr_9ocabNqAzDbBrcZsGjnwRaVs1OMp_s01cLKUlgpHFW_YdW_wEd1kb-uT3rxYpjC4e8dOLOmbsPiM_nsQNbSfoXNdc68unnzwG7D3FyNjg38s/s320/crossbridge.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419180519743800546" />

...please welcome back the Cross Bridge!
Definitely NOT surprised about this one. I've been talking with the other maniacs for a while about the fact that Stage 1 needed a bridge obstacle back. Here it is!
However, I didn't expect them to bring in an old obstacle like the Cross Bridge. Well, at least they added two blades (Bridge of Blades, the G4 name. Didn't know how to call those things)

No.3
HPA is back!!!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHlCDcNmFm9-myU0darpjUMxYwD6HHSLhZ6LFnrja604Um9C_FDdAgSGoWIS_mm83Z3gFOkFyULipTT_P6_08Uj-VjBvOy2UlCwJR9bZjtz3HyEdALuYtULmp9nnjZBBvXQ0KLINHZKhI/s320/sorrypaulhpastillthere.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419182792525028242" />

Despite Paul Darnell's run (he hurt his ankle landing), the Half Pipe Attack is still there. Seems that only if Lev...uhm...another american gets hurt on an obstacle it gets changed. Wtf...Shingo left body parts under the Wall Lift for years...
Ok back on topic :P
Anyway, I'm happy. It's one of my favourite Shin-Sasuke obstacles, even if it took out Akiyama and Shingo twice :/

No.4
Now reconfirmed...
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 178px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX_KhUCD-H72M1cSDl8XMMod_Xjy25xNVr0aJY1d595ekfm0e3UnJMAS8h_3NDaZWXDYUHTAhnCTjJ4l-N2uOgchGVp9ExFBTsh1TfZmTuLAD8ik7TzrfEYPqg06A5ac6hTa7cCGQxF8s/s320/unstablebridge.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419236939216619938" />

...the Unstable Bridge!
Here I have some personal speculations to do. First: seems to me that the path changed. Second...that red shirt looks like Yuuji's. Well, I gotta be comprehensive with whoever failed there...it's friggin third stage, arms are on fire at the end. Still frustrating tho.
But I have a possible explanation...again, I'm only speculating, but that seems to me like Hiromichi Sato. Knowing him...and watching again his demise on the Spider Walk portion of the Spider Jump in Sasuke 23...reminds me about the nickname the Maniacs gave him...C-C-C-Combo Breaker!
Yes, I'm evil, I know ^^

No.6
Ok people...now for the BIGGEST ONE!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 177px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipRjGQ3iM2gjU7lVW0aPDwDdlFHEgJaGlIDb3q1EsUCVbBLrbMppEtbEHNUBu-c0oSwxzPlwuUq5eLcWbLmturHYarJV5_VZ-EgAni1a3tHxeTDAF81qu0afQhAmcD91H5dgF20CP-mtY/s320/omgfinalstage.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419238251859175970" />

Yes you're right...someone reached Final Stage!
We discussed a bit about this too, and some of us think that's Nagano, and he achieved Kanzenseiha. If so... I'm gonna go bananas for WEEKS! Seriously...he deserves it...

P.S. Here's Arsenette's blog about the last Muscle Park event. It's been a long busy week (Or I would already had wrote and sent my letter to Switchover Media), and my brother finally is back from Turin (he's in University), so we played a bit.
We were playing cards, since we both were too sleepy to fight (that's what we used to mean with the word "game" in the old days :P how much furniture we destroyed...), and I was waiting for his next move, when I saw some pieces of another game and couldn't help but build this...
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVnqgUnTgziKaGxVVuUYtmPkJrnnjY6rm3qW618o2W74k3LiGfpvA5cKDswLsg1q8FZeaY8538jHU1fHO6Mm-ENOms-hCHFu3K8ya1ilRVILrI4HIqqecnedNA2sSnQGdAcGeaANtUlng/s320/IMG_1365.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417714770903696082" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_xLJr9NAbxgvRTzwrlkNkSGlBLfWM7Y5wKfehSOt9tOcRBCBxEWbmMsjrupR_ToGazK18BepSm7YET-lJQnu_gwhkjra94e21yIiNBN76Wt0g7OUi7Ol7vZt-en7AOmn_SUpBzmAWUzk/s320/IMG_1369.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417715184106600082" />

I then realized, called my father and told him: "Guess what's this...". He didn't get it, so I had to show him a picture of the Jumping Spider. He shaked his head, told me "Aren't you a bit of a maniac?" and left.
I liked it so much I took pics. Well, I'm taking pics of a bit of everything in these days :PArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-90105366560610654742009-12-17T06:29:00.000-08:002009-12-17T08:24:31.489-08:00Going onOk, after a bit of workout I finally managed to find a way to contact my "local broadcasting station" :P
After a long research, I found out the GXT channel is property of Switchover Media ( http://switchovermedia.com/home_eng.html the english versione of the website ). I only was able to find it on gxt's site's terms of service The good thing is that in in their "What We Do" section they put Ninja Warrior (sigh) in their main programs list . Even if they list it as Crazy Show...sigh...
Anyway, now I still have to decide what to do.
Maybe I should ask them if they still have the rights for NW and why aren't they airing Sasuke 21 and 22 yet (asking for 23 would be freaky, since even G4 hasn't aired it yet), and then if I get a reply back I'll talk them about the M9 thing.
Going straight the last one would sound stupid, I think. And I WANT to ask them when the hell are they going to air Sasuke 21 and 22, even if I already saw them :P
There also are two other news, a good one and a bad one.
The good one is that they just had an agreement with another company which will manage their commercials campaigns, and it's written that Publikompass (the company) is very confident in the potential of the channel;clearly they aren't aout of money.
The bad news is that they might end up like G4...As you can see, they already air a lot of shows that G4 airs.
Let's just hope it doesn't happen.
C'mon, another step up the stair! Japan, here I come!!!ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-31639669433153510952009-12-09T07:55:00.000-08:002009-12-09T08:19:15.762-08:00Time to react!quote from my previous entry:

http://sasukemaniac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1677&page=1

There. The time to dream about Sasuke is over. Now it's time to react! To DO something!
Yesterday was a hella of a day for me. I had to stay calm for all the day because my grandparents were here and I didn't want them to worry for me. Right after they left, I totally went bananas for fifteen minutes or so. After that, strangely, I completely calmed down...and I mean completely, as if I didn't care anymore; probably my brain decided to stop me to prevent me from setting fire to something. Well, it worked lol.
After a while, I finally tried to do what I should have done from the start: THINK!
Now I know what I should do.
Step 1- Make sure, and I mean SURE, that there's no single way to contact GXT/Sky TV to send applications. If there isn't, I'll advance to
Step 2- Email Monster 9 explaining all the crap I've went through during Step 1 and asking them to seriously think about their decision
Step 3- Organizing an e-mail campaign all over the net asking for help to all the non-Japanese and non-American Sasuke fans. Start to sweat, guy-who-reads-email-for-M9!
If nothing happens, this will lead to
Step 4- organizing a petition AND opening a blog where I'll post the messages of all the non-Japanese fans who want to be on the show but now can't due to the ask-your-local-broadcasting-company crap.

Rise Up, Sasuke fans from all over the world!ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-72642139830708886322009-12-08T07:19:00.000-08:002009-12-08T07:41:06.461-08:00Screwedhttp://sasukemaniac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1677&page=1

There. At this point I spend a good part of my (little) free time posting/reading Sasuke forums and blogs, training, looking for info. You know, it's the first time for me that I share experiences with people from other countries, and that I find something that thrills me so much.
It's great!
There's so much that changed, but some things are really weird/funny/awesome
So, here's my top ten Priceless Things I wouldn't have done if I never met Sasuke.

-Looking at WTF faces after telling people "I'm training for a Japanese obstacle course"
-Trying to learn to jump trampoline without jumping, and without a trampoline
-Becoming a (novice) traceur
-Saying "Good morning" to someone when it's 5 p.m.
-Imagining Wataru Hogasawara yelling "SPYYYDAMONKIKKIIIII"
-Enjoying Japanese TV without having a clue about what they're talking about
-Enjoying it even more after being told what they're talking about
-Yelling by mistake "Miyazaki Daisuke" instead of "Give me the ball" while playing handball
-Rejoicing at getting a message from Makoto Nagano
-Pulling victory poses every time I look at a mirrorArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-31522216609292733082009-12-01T06:37:00.000-08:002009-12-01T07:18:09.152-08:00Old things, new thingsI've been in bit of depression recently. It always happens to me in mid november-december, because I can't go out anymore because of school ,which also starts to become pretty heavy. I just hang on until Christmas: two weeks of fun and rest and the sadness is gone.
Anyway, this one seems a bit worse, maybe because my brother is not here and he's really busy too, so we can't stay in tough very much; maybe because school is so much heavier than last year, and it's going pretty bad for my standards;maybe because it's a lot of time I don't play at the school orchestra (they haven't called me yet).
My problem is darkness. I'm not afraid, no. Sometimes I spend an hour or so at night walking around looking for a glass of water, or even eating when I haven't eaten much at dinner, without turning on the lights 'cause I'm afraid of being busted my parents.
The problem is not the darkness itself, but the emotional state it brings me. Spring, summer, fall or winter, I always turn a bit sad and/or lazy when night comes, unless something really exciting happened or is going to happen. Now that at 5 o'clock it's already night, 4 days on 7 I spend the afternoon doing homework, surfing the net without really wanting to, or looking out the window wishing I could go out or I had someome to talk with. I'm in a trance, apatic state that scares me.
I'm not even reading anymore, mostly because I've got nothing new to read, and that's the red alert for me. There are some good TV series that keep me up when I really can't stand all this anymore, but they only last one hour or so, then it all starts again.
But thanks God Christmas holidays are only 20 days away. Now that's a good thing! It will all start again. My brother will come back from friggin University, I won't have to go to school so I will be able to see my friends and train and go out and anything I'll want to do. Also, there's a bunch of new things coming.
First of all, Sasuke 24 is airing New Year's day. (thanks Arsenette). It's gonna be a blast! Six hours of show...O.O a few people I know (and me too) will get square butt on January first ;-)
Seriously, someone buy an anatomic chair!
For some reason I'm afraid it won't be as great as 23, but I think it's natural. 23's was the first one I watched live (well, live broadcast), so the espectations are high.
The second new thing is that Sportsman no.1 is airing on January too (thanks again :) ). I've never watched it (until last summer I didn't even know what it was) but it seems so interesting, and there usually is a bunch of Sasuke competitors too. Seems fun, so why not watching it?
Now I gotta go. I've got to turn off my old computer, then do a new Latin homework, then study an old Physics lesson, and then try to find a new thing to do, perhaps reading an old book.

Oh, and, don't forget pals, Christmas is coming!!
ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-2532722076784686702009-11-20T09:17:00.000-08:002009-11-20T09:32:22.958-08:00All-Stars portraitsI've never been very good in drawing (still today I have to work hard to barely have a 6/10 in the Art class), but when I'm inspired, motivated, and (mostly)when I have something to copy, I like drawing after all.
Last summer I had a big, big sasuke-mania attack. I couldn't train because it rained, so I was surfing the net and found this big picture in Nagano's website . Besides immediatly putting it as desktop picture (I'm a fangirld and I'm proud of it :P ) , I thought : why not drawing it?
From this, I had an idea: making a portrait of all the All-Stars, and once I've finished them all, sending each picture to them.
The problem is that, as I said before, I'm not that good at drawing, at least when I've got nothing to look at. For Nagano it wasn't a problem, there are so many big and high-quality picture on his website I could draw a giant poster, not a portrait. For Akiyama I found this picture on Arsenette's blog, and thought it was perfect. Found something for Takeda too, but for Yamada, Shingo and Bunpei I still can't find nothing. Either the pictures are too small or too low-quality.
Well, I haven't finished Takeda's portrait yet, but here are Nagano's and Akiyama's.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 318px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTjrgLCEPv-Uhl1EJXWSK3vAKPb4t5HPT0AT64OXb8Osvhxs-7COx8zLP7ftg1QNu8l1dhpVEoOBMt1v5jOOxbeNt-6iyYWTdQeB__tFvAMVRc221n8xUdmBfFP6LSaFur_rYj8cWGByo/s320/naganopicture_face.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406239038436355746" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 270px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSqHEFhcV-DtruSxCCPAR4TsRgftG04lyju7arAG1pfmeZvTUCVSk_y-4GyneLPl-pPbjuO4RcsTbCdkTutErflVW3PkAejLZjQnfKt7cdv2VCYGca-CyJK6Pb9Sr58Rb3Zoum9ypKT1k/s320/akiyama_picture.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5406238856880688546" />

I must say I'm quite satisfied. Awesome!
Oh, for those who (like me) don't speak Japanese, here's Arsenette's blog .
Seems that the airdate should be on New Year's day. I won't have the problem of skipping school, but my parents and relatives won't be very happy if I stick on the computer all the day. I don't care...all they do is chatting, chatting, chatting on new year's day.
But it's gonna be 6 friggin hours, PLUS...a 2 hours preview with a 30 minutes news break. 8...hours...of...sasuke...again...AWESOME!=P
Anyway, I'm a bit worried.
Most of us have the feeling that Sasuke 24 could be the last one.
I hope not, I do really hope not, and I won't surrender even if they announce 24 to be the last one. Emailing campaigns, petitions, tons of letters, I'm sure the fan community can do theese things and others to keep it going.
Now that Sasuke has become a so much big part of my life, they want to end it? No, it won't be.
But let's cheer up! C'mon everybody, Sasuke 24 is coming!
BANZAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-11469601032576922542009-11-16T09:11:00.000-08:002009-11-16T09:23:20.415-08:00A Big OneYesterday I partecipated to the foundation of the new boyscout group of my town. It was a kinda big event...the last one was founded about 20 years ago.
It was so strange...when I first joined the boyscouts I was so enthusiastic that I imagined founding the Matera 3...and now here it comes!
It was damn emotional. Raffaele and Mina were both about to cry, we were friggin 200 in that small branch, it was awesome! And I love the new foulard.
Another thing to add to my Big Events list.ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-38230065217405947332009-11-16T09:04:00.000-08:002009-11-16T09:11:45.598-08:00Way outYou know, about the post of yesterday...I took it with too much anger. I simply started bitching instead of trying to find a solution.
After the rage was gone, I worked on it, and solved the problem in less than 10 minutes...nah, it definitely wasn't worth it.
Next time I'll be more careful...I hope. Ya never know when you're gonna loose it.ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-92041890917357541612009-11-15T03:21:00.001-08:002009-11-15T03:21:44.064-08:00Promises? GTFO!ok now I'm really pissed off...REALLY...
My parents promised me -PROMISED ME- they'd do what they could to help me training. They would have helped me building obstacles and so on...
Today I asked them if I could put a SINGLE wooden board in the garden to simulate the Spider Flip. ONE, not two, not the entire thing, ONE. I asked them why, they said it wouldn't have worked. I explained them that it would have worked, and asked my father if I could. Ya know what he told me? Ya know what? " I don't want a stupid wooden board in my garden".

First: YOUR garden? YOUR??? I live here too, yo? Have you noticed that?
Second: You put whatever you wanted in that garden, you put a horrible stone floor on a good part of it, I told you I didn't like it but I didn't say anything more. You put in a horrible metal thing you call "gazebo" in it, I told you I didn't like it but didn't say anything more. I let you do whatever you wanted of MY bedroom, and now I can't put a single friggin WOODEN BOARD in OUR garden?
Third: you...YOU PROMISED you would have helped me, you would have done whatever you could to help me!
When I promise you something you tell me a promise is a promise and I should never give it up. Yeah, I really do believe you.ArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7705028558351104066.post-70864431423747259712009-11-14T05:28:00.000-08:002009-11-14T07:04:18.115-08:00MotivationYesterday Ryo Matachi (Unlimited Cliffer #2) put up a lot of videos on his youtube channel .
As I found the videos I kept posting them on Sasuke Maniac. A friend was up and working too, so I ended up chatting with her a bit -doesn't happen very often because of friggin timezones- about the videos. You know, while watching Matachi's videos, I first felt bad. Before I was all excited because of the video I made (btw, here it is ), but when I saw that stuff I felt really strange. Humiliated, perhaps? I was wondering why I made my video if there was loads of people who could do so much better than me. Also, when I see all those obstacle replicas, events, I wonder why the hell are those possibilities denied to me.
The bad thing of watching those videos is that I sometimes end up forgettin how old am I, how old are they, and were do I live.
Well, after a while my friend reminded that me Ryo Matachi is 6 years older than me... It was like...waking up.
My brain suddenly decided to come back from Gnawland, and reminding me I'm 14, I started to train 3 months ago, I can't afford replicas and I live in Italy. Why worrying? I'm doing what I can, what the hell!
After a bit I turned off the computer and went to the fencing training.
And this is where the good thing comes up.
While on the bus, I thought about the videos, and the usual whisper in my mind told me: "One day I'll be able to do that too"
Actually, I don't think that day is so far away. It will take time and hard work, but I'll show that

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 236px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqhg3pI6N7HJjVyGZlBk_lv21vLLIFTDUBy65eUTlk6K62ICc8FWR16zpifxNd5l2OGaGiUiVV2SfYbyDw_ryIPDlAEOr5H54rqfjeunNEJV-sDnpCwmf3T0-xpvx6sRkGkCjHHqMb_18/s320/girlscandothattoo.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403969262877321810" />

even without friggin obstacle replicas =PArtemisFowljrhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00672503865019486763noreply@blogger.com1
